Ethical Standards and Publication Process of Electrochemical Energy Reviews

Electrochemical Energy Reviews (abbreviated as EER) is committed to upholding academic ethics and integrity, ensuring that all published content is authentic, reliable, and free from academic misconduct.
EER's Ethical Standards
1. Authenticity of Submitted Content:
1) Ensure that the content of the submitted manuscript is authentic and credible, and meets the relevant regulations and policies of China.
2) Submissions must be original works, devoid of plagiarism, falsification, fabrication, and other forms of academic misconduct.
3) Ensure that the content of the submitted manuscript does not contain any issues related to confidentiality.
2. Authors’ Names and Orders:
1) Authors must be actual contributors to the work, and their names should be listed in order of their contributions.
2) The names of the authors, their order, and affiliations should be determined at the time of submission and generally should not be altered.
3) The published work should not contain any inappropriate authorship to avoid the authorship or order issues that does not accurately reflect the actual contributions to the paper.
3. Avoiding Multiple Submissions of the Same Manuscript:
1) It is prohibited to submit the same paper or papers with only minor differences to two or more journals.
2) Within the agreed period, the paper should not be resubmitted to other journals to avoid duplicate publication.
4. Fairness of Review:
1) Reviewers should adhere to principles of fairness and impartiality when evaluating manuscripts.
2) There should be no conflict of interest with the content of the manuscript to ensure an objective and fair assessment.
3) Confidentiality should be maintained before the work is published, and the research content of unpublished manuscripts should not be disclosed.
5. Responsibilities of the Editorial Office:
1) The editorial board should conduct plagiarism checks on all submissions to prevent academic misconduct.
2) Manuscripts with academic misconduct issues should be rejected outright.
3) Provide detailed revision suggestions or reasons for rejection, and fully respect the author's viewpoints and writing style when making textual modifications or deletions.
6. Management of Academic Misconduct:
1) If it is verified that a published paper contains academic misconduct, a statement revoking the publication of the paper will be issued in the journal and on the website, and the data of the paper in relevant databases will be deleted, stopping the dissemination of the paper and eliminating any adverse effects.
2) Depending on the severity of the case, the author will be warned, notified of their institution, or reported to relevant journals.
EER's Publication Process
The publication process of Electrochemical Energy Reviews includes the following steps:
1. Manuscript Submission:
Before submitting the final manuscript, the author needs to submit a proposal firstly, which will be reviewed and approved by the Editor-in-Chief and the Executive Editor before being submitted through the EM system. After completing the manuscript, the author submits the manuscript through the journal's online submission system.
2. Initial Review:
The editorial board conducts a preliminary review of the manuscript, including content, format, and sensitive issues.
3. External Review:
1) After the manuscript passes the initial review, the Editor-in-Chief and the editorial board invite top international experts in the field of electrochemical energy to conduct peer reviews.
2) The review experts provide a detailed evaluation of the manuscript and offer feedback.
4. Manuscript Revision:
1) The author revises the manuscript based on the review experts' comments and resubmits it.
2) The Executive Editor-in-Chief (or the editorial board) conducts a secondary review to ensure that the revisions comply with the review experts' recommendations.
5. Final Review and Proofreading:
1) Manuscripts that pass the secondary review proceed to the final review stage.
2) Passing the final review, the manuscript undergoes the proofreading process (three rounds of proofreading and one round of reading).
6. Formal Publication:
1) After the author's confirmation, the article is officially published online.
2) The published content is disseminated through the journal's official website and other channels.
